Well, Bukit Batu Putih is your choice. Bukit Batu Putih is just a hill with 330 m and estimated 1.5 km hike to reach the top. It is our first time here but yet, let’s go for a sunrise. The whole hike to be estimated 1 hour time only and it included hiking up to the peak and and going down to the foothill. The top hill view was superb and we definitely took lots of pictures. Starting Point

As we are trying to catch the sunrise, we began our journey at Mydin Mall Meru around 5 am. From there, we took the North-South Expressway, exited to Gopeng and turn left into Jalan Kampung Gunung Mesah Hulu. It suppose take about 45 minutes to reach the foothill from Meru, Ipoh. But somehow the waze brought us to a wrong location, thus we reached the foothill around 6.15 am. You may notice HOGA, Gaharu Tea Valley at your left side when going to the foothill. There is an empty field as a car park nearby and also a toilet at starting point (The red building inside the picture above).

With some winds and darkness we braced through the hill. The tracks are quite clear as there is only one way up and the same way down the hill. Moreover, it was zoned into 6 zones and there are significant signboards showing the right way. It consists of 3 peak and we took about 20 minutes to reach the first peak (Zone 3) and another 10 mins to reach the last peak as it is just a short distance. We reached the last peak around 6.45 am. The overall journey was not so tiring.

The Last Signboard
We even prepared some light breakfast for ourselves to enjoy the sunrise and breeze. And yeah, instant noodles is light food right? We carried a small stove and a few eggs to be cooked with instant noodles. We prepared some hard boiled eggs and bread as well. Orite, our mini picnic is well prepared, time to wait for sunrise. Oh well, sometimes thing did not go as planned. Previous day was raining and the sun is shyly hiding behind the clouds. Yet, we still enjoy our picnic with the magnificent view of Gopeng.

After having our breakfast, we began to pack and clean to ensure no rubbish is left behind. When we reached the foothill, there is a keeper right in front of the entrance of the hill and we paid RM 3.00 per person as conservation fee. Apparently, we shall pay before the hike, however we were too early.

That's all for this simple hike.
